FNAF 2 (Five Nights at Freddy’s 2) is a survival horror game developed by Scott Cawthon, released in 2014 as both a prequel and sequel to the original game. Set in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza in 1987, you play as a night security guard trying to survive five terrifying shifts while monitoring animatronic characters through security cameras. At first glance, the place looks like a fun, family-friendly restaurant, but once night falls, everything changes. The animatronics start moving with disturbing behavior, and your only goal is simple: stay alive until 6 AM.
The biggest mistake new players make is focusing too much on cameras. In FNAF 2, you must constantly check the Prize Corner to wind the music box, or The Puppet will attack. A good habit is to check cameras briefly, then immediately return to the music box before anything else.
The mask is your main defense when animatronics enter your office. Don’t wear it constantly—only put it on when you see movement at your door. Timing is everything, because reacting too late often means game over.
The flashlight is essential for checking hallways and stopping certain animatronics like Foxy. However, spamming it wastes time and attention. Use short, controlled bursts instead of holding it down, so you can stay aware of other threats.

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza looks like a harmless family restaurant on the surface, but underneath, it hides a dark and disturbing history. In FNAF 2, the story hints at previous incidents involving missing children and malfunctioning animatronics that behave strangely after hours. The restaurant is preparing to transition into a newer version, but something clearly went wrong during its earlier days. Through phone calls and subtle clues, players slowly piece together a tragic backstory involving broken machines, lost lives, and unanswered mysteries. The more you survive each night, the more unsettling the truth behind Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza becomes.
